Universal Robots UR16e

The Universal Robots UR16e is a six-axis collaborative robot arm with a 16 kg maximum payload and a 900 mm reach. It is programmed through the PolyScope 5 or PolyScope X graphical interface on a 12-inch touchscreen, with power and I/O provided by a separate control box. Pose repeatability is ±0.05 mm under ISO 9283.

Study notes

  • Programming is done via PolyScope 5 GUI or PolyScope X GUI on a 12-inch touchscreen.
  • Joint ranges are ±360° for all joints except the Elbow, which is ±160°.
  • Maximum joint speed is 120 °/s for the Base and Shoulder joints and 180 °/s for all other joints.
  • Force torque sensor accuracy is 5.5 N.
  • Repeatability of ±0.05 mm is stated per ISO 9283.
  • Footprint is Ø190 mm; arm materials are aluminium and PC/ASA plastic.
  • Control box power source is 100-240 VAC, 47-440 Hz.
  • Control box I/O: 16 digital in, 16 digital out, 2 analog in, 2 analog out; I/O power supply 24 V 2 A.
  • Tool I/O: 2 digital in, 2 digital out, 2 analog in; power supply 2 A (dual pin) / 1 A (single pin) at 12 V/24 V.
  • System update frequency is 500 Hz; Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) is 200 A.
  • Noise: robot arm less than 65 dB(A), control box less than 50 dB(A).
