The CX8210 is an embedded PC used as a machine control, with an EtherCAT slave interface so it can operate as a slave device on an EtherCAT network. It runs Beckhoff RT Linux and the TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR) on an Arm Cortex-A53 dual-core processor at 1.2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM. E-bus or K-bus terminals attach to it for I/O, and the unit recognises the connected I/O system automatically at start-up.
