LinuxCNC G59.3

G59.3 is a LinuxCNC G-code that selects coordinate system 9 for subsequent motion. Each coordinate system holds axis offsets and an XY rotation angle about the Z axis that are applied to programmed coordinates. The stored values for system 9 are set with G10 L2 or G10 L20.

Study notes

  • G59.3 selects coordinate system 9, the ninth of the systems G54 through G59.3.
  • Coordinate system 9 stores its X, Y, Z, A, B, C, U, V, W offsets and the R rotation in parameters 5381 to 5390.
  • G10 L2 sets coordinate system offsets but does not switch the active system; G54 through G59.3 are used to select it.
  • G59.3 takes no axis or value words; the offsets it applies are stored in the parameter table.

Safety

  • It is an error to select a coordinate system while cutter compensation is on.
