Yaskawa Motoman HC30PL

The HC30PL is a six-axis human-collaborative robot in the Yaskawa HC series, built for palletizing and handling tasks with a 30 kg payload, 1700 mm horizontal reach and 3400 mm vertical reach. Power and Force Limiting (PFL) technology monitors force so the robot can run at collaborative speed in PFL mode or at full speed in industrial mode, depending on the risk assessment. It has an IP67-rated, easy-to-clean surface, a thru-arm Category 6 cable for tooling communication, and a tool flange based on EN ISO 9409-1.

Study notes

  • Controlled by the YRC1000 controller, and can also be used with the compact YRC1000micro controller.
  • Compatible with either the standard teach pendant or the Smart Pendant.
  • Thru-arm Category 6 cable provides communication options for tooling.
  • Thru-arm utilities include Air + Ethernet + I/O, and the I/O connector is M8 A-coded.
  • Tool flange is based on EN ISO 9409-1 and includes an additional dowel hole for rotating the tool.
  • Uses NSF H1 food-grade grease for facilities where incidental food contact is possible.
  • Pallet Builder Smart Pendant software is available for palletizing cell development and requires Smart Pendant v3.1 or newer.
  • Applications listed as palletizing with IP65-67 protection.

Safety

  • Power and Force Limiting (PFL) technology constantly monitors force to enable human-robot interaction.
  • The robot can shift between collaborative speed in PFL mode and full speed in industrial mode based on risk assessment and process requirements.
  • A risk assessment is necessary to ensure the robot, application and humans interact safely.
