Nachi MC500P

The MC500P is a five-axis articulated robot built for heavy layer-palletizing and material-handling work, with a 500 kg wrist payload and a 3756 mm maximum motion range so one unit can serve several pallets at once. It is driven by AC servo motors, mounts on the floor, and holds position repeatability of ±0.09 mm. The robot is intended for heavy industrial products such as car bodies, engines, foundry components and concrete slabs.

Study notes

  • Robot type designation is MC500P-01; structure is articulated with 5 degrees of freedom driven by AC servo motors.
  • Axes are shown as J1 to J6 on the controller screen.
  • Forearm carrying capacity is 25 kg maximum, separate from the 500 kg wrist payload.
  • Maximum static load torque is 3450 N·m on axis 5 and 1725 N·m on axis 6; maximum moment of inertia is 600 kg·m² on axis 5 and 400 kg·m² on axis 6.
  • Axis 6 range is stated as a maximum of ±360° with an initial setting of ±210°.
  • The general specification table lists robot weight as 3350 kg, while the additional-information block lists 1620 kg.
  • Stated applications are material handling and palletizing; mounting condition is floor.
  • Unit conversion note in the document: 1 rad = 180/π degrees and 1 N·m = 1/9.8 kgf·m.
  • The listed motion axes are 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6; no axis 4 range or speed is given.

Safety

  • An explosion-proof version is not available.
  • Software limits the downward vertical range of axis 5. Axis 4 can move 360° and axis 5 can move 125° only when the encoder correction screen or software limit settings screen is open.
  • Ambient operating limits: 0 to 45 °C, 20 to 85 %RH with no dew or frost, and vibration at the installation face not more than 0.5G (4.9 m/s²).
  • Use at less than 1000 m above sea level; exceeding the allowable altitude limits the acceptable ambient temperature.
