Makino U1310

The Makino U1310 is a wire EDM machine with a stationary work table and an opposed L-shape table measuring 1720 x 1475 mm. Axis travels are 1310 mm in X, 1010 mm in Y and 520 mm in Z, with U and V axes of ±101 mm. It cuts workpieces up to 6000 kg using wire diameters of 0.200, 0.250 or 0.300 mm.

Study notes

  • Positioning accuracy is stated as ±3 µm (±0.0001 in) over the full stroke.
  • Z-axis stroke is 520 mm, with an optional 620 mm.
  • U-axis and V-axis travel are each ±101 mm.
  • Maximum workpiece size is 2000 x 1600 mm.
  • Available wire diameters are 0.200, 0.250 and 0.300 mm.
  • The machine uses the Hyper-i control system with a 24-inch class HD touchscreen; this control is not in the referenced controller list.
  • The control interface uses pinch, swipe and drag touch operations and follows a Program/Setup/Run three-step process.
  • A programmable 3-sided drop tank lowers below the work table height for loading, unloading and maintenance access.
  • The dielectric reservoir is integrated into the base casting to improve thermal stability and reduce installation footprint.
  • The Split Precision V-Guide system supports automatic wire threading at the full Z-stroke height and is stated to last 34 times longer than round wire guides.
