Makino EDNC6

The EDNC6 is a sinker (die-sinking) EDM machine with a stationary worktable and a programmable rise-and-fall work tank. It uses the Makino Hyper-i control with HyperCut and SuperSpark IV technologies. An optional integrated automatic tool changer mounts external to the work tank so the full stroke remains usable.

Study notes

  • Hyper-i control with hi-definition touch screen, on-board digital manuals and E-Tech Doctor help functions; it is not in the controller reference list.
  • ATC capacity is listed as 16 or 32 tools; the optional integrated ATC sits external to the work tank.
  • Maximum workpiece weight 1,500 kg; maximum electrode weight 100 kg.
  • Maximum available amperage 60 A to 240 A.
  • Work tank is 1,100 x 750 x 450 mm; the standard three-sided programmable rise-and-fall tank accepts workpieces up to 1,000 x 750 mm.
  • A wide tank version accepts parts up to 1,400 x 900 mm and uses a programmable rise-and-fall front door.
  • Z stroke is 350 mm standard with a 500 mm option.
  • Optional HS-Rib Z-axis gives jump motions up to 20 m/min with 1.5 G acceleration using an integrated core-cooled ball screw.
  • The dielectric reservoir is incorporated into the base casting for thermal stability and reduced floor space.
