GROB G700F

The G700F is a horizontal-spindle machining center built on the GROB G-series concept, intended for frame-structure and chassis parts in automotive work. Its working travels are 1,450 mm in X, 990 mm in Y and 1,035 mm in Z, with an interference diameter of 1,500 mm in the A- and B-axis. The narrow bridge gives access to the underside of the part for six-sided machining, and it can run stand-alone or linked to other machines.

Study notes

  • Working travel is 1,450 mm (X), 990 mm (Y) and 1,035 mm (Z).
  • Maximum axis speed is 60 m/min in X, 75 m/min in Y and 100 m/min in Z.
  • Position accuracy is 0.01 mm in the X, Y and Z axes.
  • Chip-to-chip time t1 is 2.9 s according to VDI 2852, quoted relative to rotational speed.
  • Table diameter is 512 mm; table load is 750 kg without pallet and 605 kg with pallet.
  • Total weight is 24,000 kg without pallet changer and 31,000 kg with pallet changer.
  • Parts up to 1,500 x 900 mm can be machined; interference diameter in the A- and B-axis is 1,500 mm.
  • Motorized spindle versions: HSK-A63 47 Nm at 12,000 rpm, HSK-A63 47 Nm at 18,000 rpm, HSK-A63 83 Nm at 12,000 rpm, HSK-A63 86 Nm at 17,000 rpm, HSK-A100 185.5 Nm at 12,000 rpm, HSK-A100 340 Nm at 10,000 rpm.
  • Tool magazine options are a single disk-type magazine or a double disk-type magazine.
  • Loading options: manual or automatic front loading, or automatic top loading via robots, Cartesian linear gantry, or linear gantry with telescope; front loading via swiveling changer.
  • GROB Spindle Diagnostics (GSD) monitors motorized spindle condition; the Chip-in-Spindle Detection System (SiS) detects tool clamping faults caused by chips from 10 μm.
  • Example process shown: suspension strut dome in aluminium alloy on an 18,000 rpm motorized spindle at 29 kW / 34.6 Nm.
