GROB G300

The G300 is a modular machining center built by GROB for flexible series production, and is the smallest size in the G-series. Its linear axes travel 600 mm in X, 770 mm in Y and 810 mm in Z, with maximum axis speeds of 95/45/100 m/min. Motion axes are split into tool-side and part-side groups, and the machine accepts a range of motorized spindles, tilting rotary tables and loading systems.

Study notes

  • Working travels X/Y/Z: 600/770/810 mm; interference diameter 720 mm.
  • Maximum axis speeds X/Y/Z: 95/45/100 m/min; chip-to-chip time t1 is 2.3 s according to VDI 2852, relative to spindle speed.
  • Positioning accuracy is 0.006 mm in X/Y/Z.
  • Total weight 15,000 kg without pallet changer and 17,500 kg with pallet changer.
  • Table load 400 kg without pallet and 340 kg with pallet (A-/B-axis).
  • Motorized spindle versions: HSK-A63 47 Nm at 12,000 or 18,000 rpm; HSK-A63 83 Nm at 12,000 rpm; HSK-A63 86 Nm at 17,000 rpm; HSK-A63 199 Nm at 8,000 rpm; HSK-A100 185.5 Nm at 12,000 rpm; HSK-A100 340 Nm at 6,000 or 10,000 rpm; HSK-A100 344 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
  • Typical crankcase application: aluminium alloy, motorized spindle 18,000 rpm, 29 kW / 34.6 Nm.
  • Motion axes of the G-modules are divided into tool side and part side (axes decoupling) to improve dynamics and rigidity and to keep a compact configuration.
  • Tilting rotary table versions are available, based on torque motor technology.
  • Tool magazine: double disk-type, with tool change during machining and expandable tool pockets.
  • GROB Spindle Diagnostics (GSD) monitors motorized spindle condition; GROB Chip-in-Spindle Detection System (SiS) detects tool clamping faults caused by chips between the plain surface and the spindle nose from 10 μm.
  • CNC control: SIEMENS (standard) or FANUC (option).
