FANUC ARC Mate 50iD/7L

The ARC Mate 50iD/7L is a six-axis FANUC industrial robot for arc welding, with a 7 kg maximum load capacity at the wrist and a 911 mm maximum reach. It uses the R-30iB Plus Mate Cabinet controller. The arm is built to work in harsh environments and can flip over backwards to extend the working envelope.

Study notes

  • Datasheet type designation is ARC Mate 50iD/7L; a long-arm version is listed as ARC Mate 50iD/7L Long arm.
  • Repeatability of ±0.01 mm is stated as based on ISO 9283.
  • Motion range table values: J1 340° (360° with hardware and/or software option), J2 245°, J3 430°, J4 380°, J5 250°, J6 720°.
  • Datasheet also lists J4/J5/J6 moments (N·m) and inertia (kg·m²): 16.6/0.47, 16.6/0.47, 9.4/0.15.
  • Operating space figures give J5-axis rotation centre envelope, J3-axis rear-side interference areas (7L/7LC) and a 911 mm reach radius.
  • Optional torch maintenance station cleans and dresses arc welding torches automatically.
  • Applications listed for the ARC Mate series include welding, material removal, aerospace, automotive and consumer goods.

Safety

  • Body protection is IP67 as standard and IP67 on request (option) for the wrist and J3 arm.
  • If applied load on the robot exceeds 5 kg when the robot is installed on an angle, the operating area is limited by the mount angle; with payload below 5 kg there is no restriction of the operating space.
  • The robot can flip over backwards, which increases the work envelope.
