DMG MORI LASERTEC 3000 DED hybrid

The LASERTEC 3000 DED hybrid is a DMG MORI machine that combines laser deposition welding, an additive manufacturing process, with turning and milling in one machine. It uses a coaxial nozzle for 5-axis material deposition and can process metals and reactive materials such as Ti-6Al-4V. Its X-, Y- and Z-axis strokes are 675 mm, 300 mm and 3,062 mm, and its maximum laser power is 3,000 W.

Study notes

  • Maximum laser power is 3,000 W.
  • The Type 1500 has a Z-axis stroke of 1,562 mm; the Type 3000 has a Z-axis stroke of 3,062 mm.
  • Part capacity is up to ø670 × 932 mm at B-axis 180° or up to ø400 × 1,321 mm at B-axis 90°.
  • Material deposition is 5-axis by coaxial nozzle, for homogeneous powder distribution independent of the laser deposition welding direction.
  • The optional AM Assistant monitors melt pool size and temperature and controls laser output by feeding back the monitored values.
  • AM Assistant functions include Melt Pool Monitoring, working distance monitoring, and automatic powder calibration.
  • Reactive materials such as Ti-6Al-4V are available as an option.
  • Parts with inner channels for improved cooling are listed as an application example.
