AGIE CHARMILLES FORM X400 / 600

The FORM X400 / 600 is a die-sinking EDM machine used to produce moulds and dies by eroding metal with controlled electrical sparks in a dielectric bath. It has 400 x 300 x 350 mm travels in X, Y and Z, accepts workpieces up to 820 x 580 x 250 mm and 800 kg, and holds electrodes up to 50 kg. The machine is built for multi-cavity work with electrode wear management and thermal control across the structure.

Study notes

  • The page titles the product as FORM X400 / 600 but gives one specification table; the travels stated are 400 x 300 x 350 mm (X, Y, Z).
  • Machine dimensions are 2460 x 1410 x 2600 mm; machine weight without dielectric is 3837 kg.
  • Maximum workpiece dimensions are 820 x 580 x 250 mm, written as width x depth x height.
  • Maximum electrode weight is 50 kg.
  • Minimum/maximum distance between table and chuck is 170 - 520 mm.
  • Best surface finish stated is 0.05 μm RA.
  • Dielectric capacity is 490 l and the programmable bath level range is 0 - 290 mm.
  • The document writes the maker as AGIE CHARMILLES (a GF Machining Solutions brand).
  • Described features include Micro Spark Control for spark-level regulation, a water-cooled cabinet for the electronics, and an optional module for setting up coated workpieces.
  • Automation integration is with SYSTEM 3R equipment: WorkPal 1 and WorkPartner 1+ pallet handling, Transformer T3-100 to T3-600, and Transformer 6-axis robot for robotic EDM cells.
  • Programming is via FORM eCAM software for programming, optimizing and exporting die-sinking EDM jobs.
