# LinuxCNC M0

Instructions · `M0` · verification: source checked

M0 is a G-code M instruction in LinuxCNC that pauses a running program temporarily. The controller remains in Auto Mode, so MDI and other manual actions are not enabled. Pressing the resume button restarts the program at the following line.

## Specification

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Language | gcode |
| Code | M0 |
| Group | Program Pause |
| Dialect | LinuxCNC |

## Safety

- M0 keeps LinuxCNC in Auto Mode, so MDI and other manual actions are not enabled while the program is paused.

## Study notes

- The document permits programming M0 in MDI mode, but notes the effect will probably not be noticeable because normal MDI behavior is to stop after each line of input.
