# CODESYS MOVE

Instructions · `MOVE` · verification: source checked

MOVE is an IEC operator that assigns the value of one variable to another variable of a corresponding type. In CODESYS it can be used in CFC, FBD, and LD editors, where EN/ENO functionality can control whether the assignment occurs. In structured text, ivar2 := MOVE(ivar1); is equivalent to ivar2 := ivar1;.

## Specification

| Property | Value |

| Language | iec 61131 3 |

## Study notes

- The source and destination variables must be of corresponding types.
- In CFC, FBD, and LD editors, EN/ENO functionality can control whether the assignment occurs.
- In the CFC example, assignment occurs only when en_i is TRUE.
- The structured text form ivar2 := MOVE(ivar1); corresponds to ivar2 := ivar1;.
