# LinuxCNC G59.3

Instructions · `G59.3` · verification: source checked

G59.3 is a LinuxCNC G-code that selects coordinate system 9 for subsequent motion. Each coordinate system holds axis offsets and an XY rotation angle about the Z axis that are applied to programmed coordinates. The stored values for system 9 are set with G10 L2 or G10 L20.

## Specification

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Language | gcode |
| Code | G59.3 |
| Group | coordinate systems |
| Syntax | G59.3 |
| Dialect | LinuxCNC |

## Safety

- It is an error to select a coordinate system while cutter compensation is on.

## Study notes

- G59.3 selects coordinate system 9, the ninth of the systems G54 through G59.3.
- Coordinate system 9 stores its X, Y, Z, A, B, C, U, V, W offsets and the R rotation in parameters 5381 to 5390.
- G10 L2 sets coordinate system offsets but does not switch the active system; G54 through G59.3 are used to select it.
- G59.3 takes no axis or value words; the offsets it applies are stored in the parameter table.
