# LinuxCNC G43.2

Instructions · `G43.2` · verification: source checked

G43.2 applies an additional simultaneous tool length offset to subsequent motions. It can add the offset of tool number Hn or add the value(s) of axis words. G43.2 itself does not cause motion; the next move of a compensated axis uses the compensated endpoint.

## Specification

| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Language | gcode |
| Code | G43.2 |
| Group | Tool Length Offset |
| Syntax | G43.2 H- or axes- |
| Dialect | LinuxCNC |

### Parameters

| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| H | tool number |
| axes | axis words; the value(s) of any axis words are added as an additional simultaneous tool offset |

## Study notes

- Calling G43.2 more than once sums an arbitrary number of offsets.
- The command makes no built-in distinction between geometry offsets and wear offsets, or any assumption that only one of each is used.
- G43.2 does not write to the tool table.
- Example after T1 M6 and G43: G43.2 H10 also adds T10's tool offset.
- Example after T1 M6 and G43: G43.2 X0.01 Z0.02 adds 0.01 to the X tool offset and 0.02 to the Z tool offset.
- It is an error if H is unspecified and no axis offsets are specified, if H specifies a tool not in the tool table, or if H and axes are both specified.
