# Hurco VC500

Hardware · `VC500` · verification: source checked

The VC500 is a five-axis CNC milling machine built on a cantilever (trunnion-style) design, with X, Y and Z linear travels plus B and C rotary axes. The B axis tilts ±110° and the C axis rotates 360°, so the spindle can approach the part from either side of the trunnion. It uses a 15,000 RPM, 11 kW spindle with a CAT 40 taper and a 30- or 40-position automatic tool changer.

## Study notes

- Spindle torque is listed as 70 Nm.
- Tool-to-tool change time is listed as 2.5 seconds.
- Spindle nose to table distance is given as 150 mm; a separate spindle-nose entry lists 130/555 mm (min/max).
- Tool capacity is listed as 30 / 40, i.e. two changer configurations.
- Maximum tool diameter 80/76 mm, maximum tool length 300 mm, maximum tool weight 7 kg.
- Rotary axis maximum speed is 25 RPM for both the B axis and the C axis.
- The B-axis trunnion tilts around the Y axis, which the document states lets shorter tools be used on small parts and reduces interference compared with an A-axis trunnion.
- Linear rapid traverse is 32 m/min on X, Y and Z.
