The Hermle C 52 GEN2 is a 5-axis machining centre built around a swivelling rotary table that carries workpieces of up to 2000 kg. Its linear axes travel 1000 mm in X, 1100 mm in Y and 750 mm in Z, with rapid traverses of 60 m/min and an optional main spindle running up to 18000 rpm. Tools are changed by a pick-up tool changer from a magazine, and the machine can be delivered in a mill-turn version designated C 52 MT.

- Three main spindle variants are listed: 9000 rpm with 70 kW / 560 Nm and HSK A 100 (HSK T 100) interface, 14000 rpm with 56 kW / 356 Nm and HSK A 100 (HSK T 100), and 18000 rpm with 35 kW / 215 Nm and HSK A 63.
- Tool magazine: 60 pockets with HSK A 63, 42 pockets with HSK A 100 / HSK T 100. Max tool length 500 mm, max tool diameter Ø 160 mm (HSK A 63) or Ø 250 mm, max tool weight 15 kg or 30 kg, max magazine load 480 kg or 462 kg, chip-to-chip time approx. 7.0 s.
