Hardware · `G320` · verification: source checked

The GROB G320 is a two-spindle machining center in the GROB G-series. Two parallel motorized spindles machine two parts simultaneously, and an optional pallet changer lets dissimilar part types be machined in parallel without change-over times. It is intended for manufacturing lines in the automotive sector.

## Study notes

- Max. speeds are 95/60/120 m/min in X/Y/Z; positioning accuracy is 0.006 mm in X/Y/Z.
- Chip-to-chip time t1 is 2.0 s according to VDI 2852, relative to spindle speed.
- Distance between spindles is 700 mm; interference diameter is 2 x 698 mm.
- Total weight is 20,000 kg without pallet changer and 27,000 kg with pallet changer.
- Table load is 2 x 350 kg without pallet and 2 x 275 kg with pallet on A-/B-axis.
- Motorized spindle options: HSK-A63 at 47 Nm / 12,000 rpm or 18,000 rpm; HSK-A63 at 83 Nm / 12,000 rpm or 86 Nm / 17,000 rpm; HSK-A100 at 185.5 Nm / 12,000 rpm, 340 Nm / 6,000 rpm, 344 Nm / 6,000 rpm, or 340 Nm / 10,000 rpm.
- Typical machining example for a control arm in aluminium alloy uses a motorized spindle at 18,000 rpm with 29 kW / 34.6 Nm.
- Tool magazine options: single-disk, double-disk and triple-disk magazines.
- Control options: SIEMENS as standard or FANUC as option; no specific controller model is named.
- GROB Spindle Diagnostics (GSD) monitors motorized spindle condition; GROB Chip-in-Spindle Detection System (SiS) detects chip-related clamping faults from 10 μm between the plain surface and spindle nose.
- Top loading options include agile loading gantry, Cartesian linear gantry and Cartesian linear gantry with telescope; front loading options include automatic sliding changer and swiveling changer.
- The G-series uses motion axes divided into tool side and part side to improve dynamics and rigidity.
