# Brother S700Xd2

The Brother S700Xd2 is a CNC machining center in the SPEEDIO series with a 700 × 450 mm table and 700 mm X, 450 mm Y and 300 mm Z travels; a 380 mm Z-axis travel is optional. It uses a 12,000 min-1 spindle and a 14-, 21- or 28-tool magazine, and is controlled by the CNC-D00. It performs milling, drilling and tapping of small to medium workpieces.

## Safety

- A safety fence is required when the optional side shutter is used; the side shutter cannot be selected for S300Xd2.
- A relocation detection device is required depending on the machine destination; machines with it carry the RD suffix.
- Regular air pressure is 0.4–0.6 MPa with a recommended value of 0.5 MPa, and the document advises setting pressure above the recommended value; required flow is 40 L/min, or 115 L/min for the 27,000 min-1 specification.

## Study notes

- Standard Z-axis travel is 300 mm; the optional 380 mm Z-axis travel is available on S700Xd2 but cannot be selected on S300Xd2.
- The S700 table work area is 800 × 450 mm and the maximum uniform table load is 250 kg; 400 kg is listed after parameter adjustment.
- Tool storage capacity is 14, 21 or 28 tools on S700Xd2; the 100-tool magazine is mounted only on S700Xd2-100T.
- Rapid traverse rates are 50 m/min on X, 50 m/min on Y and 56 m/min on Z.
- Spindle speed options are 12,000 min-1 standard, 10,000 min-1 high-torque, 20,000 min-1 and 27,000 min-1; the 27,000 min-1 option cannot be selected with 380 mm Z-axis travel.
- Main spindle motor output for the 12,000 min-1 specification is 10.1 kW for 10 min and 7.0 kW continuous.
