The Beckhoff CX8280 is an embedded PC with an Arm Cortex-A53 dual-core processor at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB LPDDR4 RAM. It provides one Gigabit Ethernet interface, one USB 3.0 interface, and a 9-pin D-sub bus interface with one RS232 and one RS485 serial port. It runs Beckhoff RT Linux with TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR) and accepts E-bus or K-bus terminals.

- Two serial interfaces are on a 9-pin D-sub socket: one RS232 and one RS485; they are not bound to a particular protocol.
