# Beckhoff CX5130

The CX5130 is a fanless Embedded PC with an Intel Atom E3827 dual-core processor running at 1.75 GHz and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. It provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, one DVI-I output and four USB 2.0 ports, plus a slot for an optional factory-fitted interface. With a TwinCAT runtime installed it executes PLC, PLC/motion control and interpolating motion control projects, and it connects to I/O through E-bus or K-bus terminals.

## Safety

- Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage temperature range is -40 to +85 °C; relative humidity 95%, no condensation.
- Approvals/markings: CE, UL, DNV; with the CX2900-0107 ordering option also ATEX, IECEx, cFMus and CCC.
- For use in hazardous areas the CX2900-0107 device modification is mandatory for zone 2/22 or Class I, Div. 2; it includes a mounting bracket for mechanical locking of the connectors.
- Ex marking with ATEX: II 3G Ex ec IIC T4 Gc. IECEx: Ex ec IIC T4 Gc. cFMus: Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D; Class I, Zone 2, AEx ec IIC T4 Gc.

## Study notes

- Flash storage is not included: the unit has a slot for a CFast card and a microSD card.
- Memory card minimum capacity is 20 GB for Windows Embedded Compact 7 and TwinCAT/BSD, and 40 GB for Windows Embedded Standard 7 and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.
- Main memory of 4 GB DDR3 RAM is not expandable.
- Cooling is passive; diagnostics LEDs cover power, TC status, flash access and bus status.
- The internal clock for time and date is battery-backed and the battery is exchangeable.
- Control software is TwinCAT 2 runtime or TwinCAT 3 runtime (XAR); TwinCAT 3 platform level is Performance (40).
- I/O connection is E-bus or K-bus with automatic recognition; E-bus/K-bus current supply is 2 A.
- Max. power consumption is 20 W when the integrated 1-second UPS is being loaded.
- Dimensions are 142 mm x 100 mm x 92 mm (W x H x D).
- Optional interfaces include EtherCAT master/slave, PROFIBUS master/slave, CANopen master/slave, PROFINET RT controller/device, RS232, RS485, RS422, DVI-D, DisplayPort and audio.
- Product status is regular delivery, not recommended for new projects; the recommended alternative is CX5330.
- Windows Embedded Compact 7 only supports one CPU core; with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2019 LTSC 32-bit only 4 GB RAM can be used.
