The Beckhoff CX5120 is a fanless embedded PC for control cabinet installation. It uses an Intel Atom E3815 single-core processor at 1.46 GHz and provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, and a DVI-I interface. Depending on the ordered operating system and TwinCAT runtime, it can run PLC, motion control, or visualization applications.

## Study notes

- The CX5120 has a slot for a CFast card and a microSD card; cards are not included.
- Main memory is 2 GB DDR3 RAM and is not expandable.
- An integrated 1-second UPS is provided with 1 MB on the CFast card.
- Cooling is passive. Diagnostics LEDs indicate power, TC status, flash access, and bus status.
- I/O connection is E-bus or K-bus with automatic recognition; E-bus/K-bus current supply is 2 A.
- The CX5100 series has a compact design and does not support modular extension modules like the CX2000 series.
- Product status is regular delivery, not recommended for new projects; the recommended alternative is CX5330.
- TwinCAT 3 platform level is Performance (40).
- Optional factory-fitted interfaces include RS232, RS485/RS422, EtherCAT master/slave, PROFIBUS master/slave, CANopen master/slave, and PROFINET RT controller/device.
